Thompson Early Childhood Center instructional staff voted Shanna Romano as the 2016-17 Teacher of the Year

Here is some information about Mrs. Romano:  Shanna Romano is a graduate of Mount Olive College, Mount Olive, NC, with a Bachelors of Science degree in Early Childhood Education and received her North Carolina Teaching License from North Carolina Central University, Durham, NC. Mrs. Romano has 14 years of classroom teaching experience. She has worked for Onslow County Schools for 6 years and is currently a Teacher at Thompson Early Childhood Center. Mrs. Romano's husband, of 21 years, is a retired US Marine Master Sergeant, where his active duty career took the family all over the world allowing her to be a teacher within private preschools, childcare classrooms and overseas international schools. Mrs. Romano and her husband have two beautiful daughters whose academic, athletic and social calendar keeps her and her husband on their toes. Away from school, Mrs. Romano enjoys traveling, days at the beach and spending time with family and friends. As an educator Mrs. Romano wants to leave her students with the love of learning. Mrs. Romano feels Thompson Early Childhood Center has become her school family and enjoys the positive atmosphere. She is glad to be working with a great team of educators and families! Mrs. Romano is looking forward to another exciting school year.
